Motions

A motion is a specific proposal to address an issue. Team members vote on motions to reach decisions.

Create a motion

1. Open an issue

2. Click Propose Motion

3. Enter a clear title that describes the action

4. Add details explaining the proposal

5. Click Submit

Motion structure

A good motion includes:

• Title: A clear, actionable statement (e.g., "Adopt TypeScript for all new projects")

• Description: Details, rationale, and implementation notes

• Attachments (optional): Supporting documents or links

Status	Description
Draft	Being prepared, not yet open for voting
Open	Active and accepting votes
Passed	Received sufficient votes in favor
Failed	Did not receive sufficient votes
Withdrawn	Removed by the proposer

Multiple motions

An issue can have multiple competing motions. This allows the team to consider different approaches before voting.

Tips

• Write motions as clear action statements

• Include enough detail for informed voting

• Consider adding pros and cons

• Link to relevant discussions or documents
