A motion is a specific proposal to address an issue. Team members vote on motions to reach decisions.

Create a motion

  1. Open an issue

  2. Click Propose Motion

  3. Enter a clear title that describes the action

  4. Add details explaining the proposal

  5. Click Submit

Motion structure

A good motion includes:

  • Title: A clear, actionable statement (e.g., "Adopt TypeScript for all new projects")

  • Description: Details, rationale, and implementation notes

  • Attachments (optional): Supporting documents or links

Multiple motions

An issue can have multiple competing motions. This allows the team to consider different approaches before voting.

Tips

  • Write motions as clear action statements

  • Include enough detail for informed voting

  • Consider adding pros and cons

  • Link to relevant discussions or documents
